Talk Therapy

with Dr. Julie Kahler, for adults in Oregon.

Julie Kahler, PhD Psychologist

I work with adults and their loved ones who want to improve the quality of their life and their relationships. Making changes is a process that can be challenging, yet worthwhile and rejuvenating. I provide a validating space, centered around increasing understanding, and promoting healing and growth.

My Approach

I am Dr. Julie Kahler, a psychologist licensed in Oregon.

I work with adults who are struggling in their life and relationships. Together, we explore the habits and beliefs that keep them from realizing their potential. In my practice, clients discover clarity about their values and boundaries and are empowered to make change in their lives. My approach is to build a relationship of support and trust with you that offers the safety to explore problems with flexibility and curiosity. My clinical and research experience has given me expertise in human behaviors and emotions, but you are the expert of yourself and your own life.

Something I love about my work is watching my clients learn to trust themselves again. People often say they feel stressed and exhausted. Of course they do! Life transitions, loss, relationships, and career stress can bring up life’s big questions, and can contribute to confusion and dissatisfaction, leading to doubting yourself and feeling stuck in inaction. But as we put difficult emotions into context together, there is a shift toward enhanced self-empowerment as we explore how these emotions are signals for changes you want to make. I deeply enjoy helping my clients to hear themselves more clearly and take action.

Difficult life transitions or stressors can lead to self-doubt, anxiety, isolation, burnout, getting stuck in negative thoughts or emotions, and it can bring up past difficulties that make us question who we are. I will guide you on your journey of exploration and personal growth, with evidence-informed frameworks, to optimize success. Our work will focus on getting in touch with your goals and what matters to you in life.

Modern life is complex and can be complicated to navigate. Instead of languishing, you deserve to flourish. I work collaboratively with clients to empower them to live happier, healthier, more productive lives.  So let’s connect by scheduling a free consult to see if we would be a good match and to learn how to feel more confident and successful at handling whatever life brings your way.
